Today, political security, meaning the organizational stability of governments and government systems, is one of the serious challenges to countries to the extent that it has put their legitimacy at risk. Various governance models have been proposed around the world to create political legitimacy and, as a result, the organizational stability of governments. The Holy Quran, as the most valuable source of knowledge for the Islamic community, has introduced components for governance to ensure political security. Therefore, the research question is: What solutions has Islamic governance provided to produce political security based on the Holy Quran? The present research, using the method of “atemporal extractive thematic interpretation,” seeks to achieve this without imposing contemporary questions on this sacred text. The Quran has referred to historical examples in various cases by describing the characteristics and threats related to political security. Accordingly, to provide political security, Quranic governance is composed of two main pillars: people-centeredness and divineness. Under these two pillars, the strategies for achieving political security include: obedience of officials to the Islamic ruler, justice-centeredness, unity and lack of division among officials, lack of rebellion and tyranny of rulers, implementation of Islamic limits, science-centeredness, gentleness of rulers towards the people, and comprehensive readiness to confront external threats.
