Today, research on the phenomenon of jihad and resistance in governance literature is one of the most prominent and necessary research. The conceptology of the concepts used in governance ideas has led to a deep understanding of governance approaches in the field of practice and prevents incorrect analyses resulting from the conceptual fusion of concepts used in the scope of governance. The conceptology of the concepts of resistance, jihad, and defense in Ayatollah Khamenei’s governance ideas has led to the recognition of his governance approaches, and the selection of conceptual boundaries will lead to the selection of appropriate governance approaches that are appropriate to them. In this paper, with a descriptive-analytical approach, the text-based interpretation method has been used to discover concepts and conceptual correlations in Ayatollah Khamenei’s governance ideas.
The findings show that the connection between jihad and defense has been partial inclusion, and specific in nature, and defense is used in the sense of removing the created obstacle. Resistance is also a type of jihad in which the removal of obstacles is considered along with invitation and expansion. In Ayatollah Khamenei’s governance idea, there are three approaches: defensive governance, resistance governance, and governance based on primary jihad. In the first approach, governance is only intended to remove the enemy’s current obstacle, and in the second approach, the complete removal of the obstacle and the replacement of Islamic models and their expansion in the world are considered. In the third approach, governance seeks to export Islamic models to other countries according to the conditions and requirements and organizes governance processes according to their invitation. All models, processes, structures, and assessments in the scope of governance should be organized according to each of the approaches.
